Hailing from Lorain, Ohio, Nicole currently is the Director of Student Activities & Leadership Development at the University of Cincinnati. Nicole works collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to create dynamic student experiences that serve as the cornerstone for engagement. She is a 3-time graduate of the University of Cincinnati with degrees in Psychology and Education, respectfully. She is also an adjunct instructor in the Organizational Leadership Department and contributes to the SALD Leadership Certificate curriculum. An aspiring author and co-owner of AlexandAus.com apparel company, Nicole considers herself a creative.

In the fall of 2018 she launched her stage show Mommin' Ain't Easy that allowed women to take the stage and share the stories of love, laughter, trials, and tribulations when it comes to motherhood. The success of her stage show inspired Nicole to pursue her current project and explore her childhood wounds. Currently she is working on a book about the effects of parental incarceration on children and a non-profit titled Kupona Kids. Kupona means to recover in Swahili. Nicole wants to provide a space of healing for children who experienced childhood trauma from the shame and stigma associated with a parent in prison. Nicole is the wife of Lionell Ausmer Jr. and the mom of Avery and Jackson. Nicole lives by the words, Give More. Do More. Be More.
