SPEAKER & PERFORMER

Lauren Gibson is a 17 year old senior at the School for Creative and Performing Arts. She is a drama major, her previous majors at the school were Creative Writing and Violin. Lauren is a member of the Sisters of SCPA, Student Council, and is a Varsity Cheerleader. She has been on the Honor Roll her entire school career and has received numerous academic awards. Lauren’s movie debut was as a co-star in the movie “The Fits” as Maia which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. “The Fits” was given rave reviews by Peoples Magazine and The New York Times.

She is also Co-Captain of the Q-Kidz Dance Team and has traveled all over the country with her team which has been featured in music videos and documentaries. She has participated in various community service projects and is a self-proclaimed youth advocate, promoting peace in the community with her peers and has been featured on the news a few times for her involvement. Lauren plans on going to college to major in broadcasting.
