Our community will be joining a one day bi-coastal event taking place on December 1, 2011 organized by the Paley Center in New York and Los Angeles that focuses on women and women’s issues. TEDxWomen type events are TEDx events hosted around the live webcast of TEDxWomen, and also feature local speakers. Our event is called TEDxCincinnatiWomen and is one of many TEDx events happening around the globe on December 1st that will expand on the ideas brought up at TEDxWomen. Our event will take place in the evening.
TEDxWomen will live stream from the Paley Centers in New York and Los Angeles to the global
TEDx community. We will watch the live stream of TEDxWomen, and have the opportunity to host local speakers on women’s issues. There are over 100+ communities that are connecting
around the world.
What you’ll find at every TEDx event:
The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all TEDx events have several features in common.
- TED’s celebrated format: A suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances (live, or just TED Talks videos from TED.com) on a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder — and to provoke conversations that matter
- TED Talks videos: A minimum of two pre-recorded talks from the acclaimed TED Talks video series (these talks are available free on TED.com)
- Bias-free programming: Lack of any commercial, religious or political agenda
